Thatched to tiled roof

Here’s some photos of a property where we took a fully thatched roof and converted it to tiled. As the property was not listed, the owner was able to get permission to do this.

We had to strip the old thatch, retimber (a lot of timber work was done to the windows so they could be tiled) and felted and battened the roof and then tiled – we used reclaimed plain tiles.

The eve and brow courses where done in stone to give the property an older look and to mirror other buildings in the grounds.
